This morning, our fund manager, CEO, and partner Alexander Jansson joined DiTV Börsmorgon to discuss three highly topical subjects: the comparison between Europe and the USA, Northvolt’s financial situation, and inflation.

Europe vs. USA
The debate on Europe vs. USA has become a recurring feature whenever Alexander visits Börsmorgon, and today’s episode was no exception. Since November 2007, Europe has consistently underperformed compared to the USA—a trend Alexander believes reflects a structural issue in Europe. Many areas in Europe are overregulated, while the USA continues to benefit from deregulations and a political direction that promotes economic growth. Although we don’t see a turnaround at this moment, changes in the USA often eventually reach Europe.

Northvolt – What does the reconstruction mean?
Northvolt’s request for reconstruction in the USA raised questions about renewable energy and its challenges. Alexander highlighted the global landscape, including China’s dominance in the sector and the slim operating margins that many companies in this capital-intensive industry face.

Inflation
Inflation was also on the agenda, as Alexander shared insightful historical graphs illustrating past trends and their implications for the future.
